About

The audit that
should have
always existed.

Native Ore Analytics is an analytics consultancy founded by Travis Gunn. Since 2013, we've helped agencies, e-commerce businesses, and enterprise teams get their data right — from implementation to attribution to reporting.

GA4 Health Check is the tool we built when we got tired of running the same manual audit checks over and over. It automates what we used to do by hand — in under 60 seconds.

A decade of audits
turned into a product.

I founded Native Ore Analytics because I kept seeing the same thing: brilliant marketing strategies undermined by data nobody had actually checked.

I've been working with Google Analytics since 2013. In that time I've worked across in-house teams, senior corporate analytics roles, and my own independent consultancy — serving over 250 clients across almost every industry vertical. I've maintained a 100% Job Success Score on Upwork for over a decade, and that's only half the work I've done in the analytics space.

After auditing enough properties manually, a pattern became impossible to ignore: the same 50+ critical errors appearing in property after property. Broken event tracking. Misconfigured Consent Mode. Staging environments polluting production data. Attribution hijacked by payment processors. The same problems, the same fixes, just a different client each time.

GA4 Health Check is what we built to automate that work. The same audit I ran manually for consulting clients — now available in 60 seconds, to anyone who needs it.

Our mission

To ensure that every marketer, agency, and business owner can look at their GA4 dashboard and know — with complete certainty — that the numbers they see are the truth.

The origin

GA4 is genuinely powerful — but it ships with defaults that will silently corrupt your data if nobody checks them. Two-month data retention deletes history with no warning. Staging environments leak into production with no filter. Payment processors hijack attribution. UTM casing splits channels in half.

None of these are obscure edge cases. They're the norm. After years of finding them manually in client properties, the answer wasn't another checklist article. It was automation. A tool that connects to the GA4 API, runs every check in parallel, and gives you a scored, prioritised, actionable report in under 60 seconds.

That's GA4 Health Check — built by the Native Ore Analytics team, for anyone who needs to know whether their GA4 data can actually be trusted. Use it once before a campaign. Use it at every client onboarding. Use it whenever something in a report doesn't look right.

After auditing hundreds of GA4 properties manually, I saw the same patterns everywhere: broken events, missing attribution, and compliance gaps that were quietly destroying marketing budgets.

GA4 Health Check isn't a reporting tool. It's the automated eyes of an experienced analyst — one who's seen what actually breaks in production, not just what the documentation says might go wrong.

Our 50+ point audit is the exact same checklist used for high-level consulting engagements at Native Ore Analytics. The difference is it now runs in under 60 seconds, so you spend less time finding problems and more time fixing them.

Need the implementation fixed after the audit? That's what Native Ore Analytics is here for.

The problems that
keep showing up.

01
2-month data retention — the default that deletes history
GA4's default retention is 60 days. Most properties never change it. Once data is gone, it's gone permanently.
02
UTM inconsistency splitting channels in attribution
'Email', 'email', and 'EMAIL' appear as three separate channels. Campaign ROI becomes impossible to measure accurately.
03
Staging traffic polluting production data
Without hostname filters, developer sessions count as real users. Conversion rates look worse. Every metric is wrong.
04
Consent Mode v2 missing — EU conversions unmodelled
Required for EEA traffic since March 2024. Without it, GA4 can't model conversions for users who decline cookies.
05
Payment processors stealing attribution
PayPal and Stripe redirects create new sessions, making purchases appear to come from the payment processor instead of the original channel.
06
Purchase events missing required parameters
Revenue data that looks fine on the surface but is missing currency, transaction ID, or item arrays — silently incomplete.

How we built it.

A few principles that shaped every decision in the product.

Specific over vague
Every finding tells you exactly what's wrong, why it matters to your data, and precisely how to fix it — down to which GA4 Admin menu or GTM tag to open. No recommendations that require interpretation.
Severity that means something
Not everything is critical. The audit scores and prioritises findings so you know what to fix this week versus what belongs in the backlog. Time is finite — the report respects that.
Read-only, always
GA4 Health Check only ever reads your data. We request the minimum OAuth scope required, we never store raw analytics data, and you can revoke access from Google at any time.
Fast enough to run routinely
Under 60 seconds from connect to report. Fast enough to run before a campaign launches, after a site change, or whenever something in a report looks off.
A report worth sharing
The PDF is designed to be handed to a developer, presented to a CMO, or delivered to a client. Professional enough to represent your work, clear enough that anyone can understand it.
Built on real audit experience
Every check was designed from the pattern of issues that appear repeatedly across real GA4 properties — not from documentation, but from seeing what actually breaks in production.
